Draft for pre-launch review • Last updated October 2026
Pre-launch note: APC's legal business name, trading address and final contact details are still awaiting confirmation and will be inserted before publication. These terms should receive a final legal/compliance review before the website goes live.
1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions apply when you request, book or receive cleaning services from Affordable Professional Cleaning Services ("APC", "we", "us" or "our"). By confirming a booking, you agree to these terms. Our full legal business details and contact address will be added here before the website goes live.
2. Quotations and bookings
Prices are based on the information supplied when a quotation is requested. Please give accurate information about the property, service required and any circumstances that may affect the work. If the condition, size or requirements of the property differ materially from the information provided, we will discuss any necessary change to the price or scope of work before carrying out additional work. A booking is only confirmed once APC has accepted the booking and the required deposit has been received.
3. Deposit and payment
A deposit equal to 20% of the agreed quotation is required to secure a booking. The remaining 80% becomes due once the agreed cleaning service has been completed, unless a different payment arrangement has been agreed with APC in writing. Any additional work requested and agreed during the appointment may be charged separately.
4. Cancellations and rescheduling
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, the 20% booking deposit will normally be retained, subject to any cancellation rights you have under applicable consumer law. Where more than 24 hours' notice is provided, APC will normally allow the booking to be rescheduled or arrange any refund due under the applicable booking terms. Repeated or exceptional rescheduling may be subject to availability.
5. No access and missed appointments
You are responsible for ensuring our cleaners can access the property at the agreed time. If we cannot gain access, nobody is available to provide access, or the appointment cannot proceed because of circumstances within the customer's control, APC may treat the appointment as a late cancellation. In appropriate circumstances a charge of up to 50% of the quoted service price, including any deposit already paid, may apply. We will take the circumstances into account and will not charge more than is reasonable for the loss caused.
6. Arrival times and service duration
Appointment times are scheduled in good faith. Traffic, travel conditions, previous appointments and circumstances outside our reasonable control can occasionally affect arrival times. If a significant delay occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you. The time required for a clean may vary depending on the property and the service booked.
7. Customer responsibilities
Please provide a safe working environment, reasonable access to the areas being cleaned, running water and electricity where required, and tell us about delicate surfaces, damaged items, hazards, access restrictions or special cleaning requirements before work begins. Valuable, fragile or irreplaceable items should be secured before the appointment.
8. Cleaning standards and concerns
We aim to provide cleaning services with reasonable care and skill. If you believe something has been missed or a service has not been completed to the agreed standard, please contact APC as soon as reasonably possible and provide enough information for us to investigate. Where appropriate, we may offer a reasonable remedy, including returning to address an issue.
9. Damage and breakages
Please tell us promptly if you believe damage occurred during an APC appointment. We will investigate reported incidents fairly. APC is not responsible for pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear, defects, unstable fixtures or damage arising because important care instructions or risks were not disclosed to us. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
10. Parking, access and additional costs
Where a property requires paid parking, permits, congestion charges or other unavoidable access costs, these may be added to the price where this has been communicated or reasonably agreed with you. The final arrangements for parking and other location-specific charges will be confirmed as part of APC's booking information.
11. Services outside the agreed scope
A booking covers the service and scope described in the accepted quotation. Specialist work, hazardous materials, unsafe areas, pest or biohazard cleaning, external work or tasks requiring specialist equipment are not included unless APC has expressly agreed to provide them.
12. Consumer cancellation rights
If you are a consumer booking online, by telephone or away from our business premises, statutory cancellation rights may apply. Where you ask us to begin providing a service during a statutory cancellation period, we may ask for your express request to start early. If you then exercise a statutory right to cancel after work has begun, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already supplied. Nothing in these terms removes any rights you have under applicable UK consumer law.
13. Events outside our control
We will not be responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control. Where this affects an appointment, we will try to contact you and make reasonable alternative arrangements.
14. Personal information
We use customer information to administer quotations, bookings, payments, customer service and related communications. Further information about how personal information is handled will be set out in APC's Privacy Policy before launch.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms applicable to your booking will normally be those made available when the booking is confirmed, unless a change is required by law or is expressly agreed with you.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you retain any rights you have to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to you under consumer law.
